McCormack Baron Salazar, Inc. (MBS) and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) are set to begin leasing 227 apartments at Mirasol Village, a five-phase redevelopment of the former Twin Rivers, the organizations announced today. Leasing applications are available on the new   Mirasol Village website, www.mirasolvillage.net, or by calling 916-561-0324.

Construction on the first 123 units began last summer. Those units will be ready for move-in beginning in February 2022. Another 104 family units will be ready for move-in during Summer 2022. Mirasol Village includes one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom units. Upon completion, it will be a vibrant, 22-acre residential complex consisting of approximately 427 affordable, workforce and market-rate rental apartments.

Located near the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers, Mirasol Village includes a new 1.6-acre public park and community garden and is in close proximity to the new Dos Rios Light Rail station, as well as Highway 160 and Interstate 5. Mirasol Village includes sidewalks and bike lanes on main travel corridors, and a connection across the American River to downtown Sacramento. The project also includes new streets, on-site electric vehicle charging stations, a playground, business and fitness centers, a swimming pool and an early childhood education center. The Mirasol Village apartment community is LEED-ND and Energy Star certified, as well as Green Point rated.

“These beautiful new apartment homes are taking shape, and we are excited to be opening the leasing process,” said Daniel Falcon, Jr., McCormack Baron Salazar. “With a variety of floor plans, updated amenities and a wonderful neighborhood feel, these apartments will fill quickly.”

“This project has been years in the making as we envisioned the transformation of the former Twin Rivers community,” said La Shelle Dozier, SHRA Executive Director. “We are excited to welcome our families back to their new homes with opportunities at Mirasol Village, and we thank all of the partners and supporters who have contributed to the success of this remarkable effort.”

All former residents of Twin Rivers are being offered housing at Mirasol Village. The non-profit Urban Strategies, Inc. (USI) leads the “people” component of the redevelopment, providing intensive case management for residents in coordination with citizen-directed planning and resident engagement. Examples of services include employment and skills training, health and wellness programs, financial education, early childhood services, after-school and summer programming and community safety programming.
