Scott-Carver residents returning to new Northpark community
The wait is over; former residents of the Scott Carver community are returning to the same location but to a new community.
The Miami Times profiled two of the first former Scott Carver residents to move into the new Northpark at Scott Carver community in Miami-Dade County. Ophelia Grant and Jacquelyn Blackmon left the Scott-Carver public housing site when it was closed in 2005 and have now returned with their families to the economically-integrated, environmentally-sustainable, HOPE VI community. With community and supportive services provided by Urban Strategies, Inc and property management services from McCormack Baron Ragan, the new community has already welcomed 56 former Scott Carver residents and plans to welcome more than 100 additional families.
