Louis Bernardy to Lead Texas Efforts for McCormack Baron Salazar
As the company’s presence in Texas continues to expand, McCormack Baron Salazar is pleased to announce that Louis Bernardy will begin a new role with the company as “Vice President and Director of Development, Texas.”
Mr. Bernardy joined McCormack Baron Salazar in their West Coast office in 2007. As a Vice President, he project managed and closed several development projects in Los Angeles and Phoenix totaling more than $55 million in total development costs. Currently, he is serving as the project manager for the East Side Choice Neighborhood in San Antonio, which includes the development of 417 new mixed-income homes in a mixed-use community. Prior to joining McCormack Baron Salazar, Mr. Bernardy served as the President and CEO of Los Angeles Housing Partnership (LAHP), a regional non-profit housing development corporation, for fifteen years.
“We see a lot of opportunity and need in Texas for our type of high-quality, economically-integrated urban development. And having someone like Lou, with his executive leadership capabilities and financing acumen, based in San Antonio to lead that effort, will be critical to our success in the state,” said Richard Baron, founder, Chairman and CEO of McCormack Baron Salazar. “We are excited about this strategic change and look forward to being able to transform urban neighborhoods throughout Texas into vibrant communities for families.”
Mr. Bernardy will be based in San Antonio and will serve as the project executive for the company’s entire development portfolio in Texas. In addition, he will continue his role as project manager for the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative effort in San Antonio.
