Center for Transforming Lives*

Fort Worth, TX

For over 100 years, the Center for Transforming Lives (“CTL”) has worked side-by-side with women and their children to disrupt the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Tarrant County, Texas. By providing comprehensive housing services, including rapid rehousing, early childhood education, economic mobility, and clinical counseling services, CTL addresses families’ most critical needs and supports mothers in creating long-term sustainability for their families.

Beginning in 2013, CTL created a strategic plan that focused on expanding its services to serve more women and families and serving them closer to the communities they are in. CTL’s new Early Childhood Education & Economic Mobility Center (Riverside Campus) in Fort Worth will leverage CTL’s approach to 1) help poor and homeless women develop and implement an action plan to achieve economic self-sufficiency and independence and 2) nurture their children via a multi-generational program of early childhood education to ensure school readiness. Crucially, this dual focus will occur under the same roof as trauma-informed behavioral health care and housing assistance for those who need it. The new site is in southeast Fort Worth, moving services closer to the neighborhoods where many of CTL’s clients live.

The new center will expand these offerings by 57%, allowing for the enrollment of 120 children. The campus will also feature drop-in services such as counseling and behavioral health services, housing assistance, and an economic mobility center. Additionally, the project will result in 52 new full-time jobs and 119 retained positions.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
