Ascension DePaul Services New Orleans (ADSNO) is a nearly 200-year-old institution in New Orleans operating 11 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). ADSNO provides a broad range of services, including primary and preventive care, optometry, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health.

In response to insufficient accessible primary care and support services in New Orleans, ADSNO has developed a plan to expand and renovate facilities to improve healthcare accessibility, particularly in low-income communities. Two key projects included relocating a clinic to the ground floor of a new mixed-use building in Central City and renovating and expanding a clinic in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner. The Central City project involves relocating an existing clinic to a newly constructed building that includes affordable housing and community-serving commercial space. The Kenner project includes acquiring the building, renovating the existing clinic, expanding with a new pharmacy space, HVAC replacement, and environmental remediation.

MBS Urban Initiatives CDE made an investment of $7,500,000 in New Market Tax Credit allocation to ADSNO, leveraged with equity from a state credit allocation and from ADSNO. U.S. Bank Impact Finance is the investor.

The new clinics will serve over 8,000 individuals annually with approximately 16,000 visits, with 70% of the population being Medicaid recipients. The project will retain 16 high-quality medical jobs and create 16 additional positions, 75% of which will be available to individuals without a college degree.
