Universal Design and Accessibility
McCormack Baron Salazar is committed to creating accessible communities, in accordance with community needs and the accessibility requirements of our funders (including HUD and state housing finance agencies), the American Disabilities Act, and other local entities. For us, physical accessibility is about making access and movement easier for everyone: individuals with physical disabilities, seniors, mothers with small children and strollers, and anyone carrying shopping bags, riding a bicycle or bending over doing laundry.
Our goals is to make the built environment accessible for everyone, including children, the elderly, the physically disabled and the able-bodied, without the results being so specialized as to render the units unappealing to the population at large. With this goal in mind, we build upon our considerable experience in incorporating well-designed accessibility, ensuring that the needs of residents and government requirements are met and exceeded with attractive and appealing solutions.
