Nov 01 2011 in Corporate News

McCormack Baron Salazar Project Manager, Monika McKay, was recently recognized by Gambit magazine as one of New Orleans’ “40 under 40.”

A New Orleans native, Ms. McKay is the lead project manager for the off-site components of the Iberville Housing revitalization project and serves as a consultant to the B.W. Cooper Housing redevelopment project.  The Iberville project received one of five Choice Neighborhood Implementation grants awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2011.

Ms. McKay previously served as the project manager for the Columbia residential development, St. Bernard / Columbia Parc.  She was recognized by Gambit for both her professional work in affordable housing and her personal service and efforts to bring developers and investors into the community.

Ms. McKay has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Houston and a graduate certificate in Urban Development from the University of Pennsylvania.  She is active in New Orleans politics and public policy, serving as a board member for Citizens for a Better New Orleans and as a committee member for the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance.
