McCormack Baron Salazar employees make significant contribution at Urban Land Institute national meeting

During the week of October 23rd, 2011, the Urban Land Institute held their Fall Meeting and Urban Land Expo in Los Angeles, California.  McCormack Baron Salazar’s Los Angeles staff was very active that week, participating and moderating several ULI panel discussions.

Tony Salazar, Principal and President of West Coast Operations for McCormack Baron Salazar, was a panelist for “HUD Catalysts for Re-Positioning Neighborhood Markets.”  As part of the recipient teams for two Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grants and one Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant, Tony spoke about McCormack Baron Salazar’s experience in using this new resource to revitalize the Alice Griffith neighborhood in San Francisco and the Iberville/Tremé neighborhood in New Orleans.

Mr. Salazar also participated in and moderated a panel on “Transit, Jobs and Housing: The Emerging Policy Triad.”  With his extensive experience with public/private partnerships, mixed-use development, transit infrastructure, social justice, public health and creative financing strategies, Mr. Salazar explained how McCormack Baron Salazar Transit Oriented Developments, like Metro Hollywood and MacArthur Park, were able to use current financing structures to meet future goals and demographics.

In addition to Mr. Salazar’s contributions, McCormack Baron Salazar Senior Vice President, Dan Falcon, participated in a panel regarding riverfront development and Lou Bernardy, McCormack Baron Salazar Vice President spoke on the increasing use and evolution of manufactured housing.
