June 26, 2012 | McCormack Baron Salazar

On June 26, 2012, the National Affordable Housing Management Association has awarded McCormack Baron Salazar’s Harmony Oaks community in New Orleans a 2012 Vanguard Award for New Construction.

The Vanguard Awards recognize and benchmark new, quality multifamily affordable housing development. The award pays tribute to developers of high-quality affordable housing and to communities that demonstrate that exceptional new affordable housing is available across the country, and that it is a positive addition to any neighborhood.

The Harmony Oaks HOPE VI Community, developed by McCormack Baron Salazar, Landwide Development and NONDC/Harmony Neighborhood Development and managed by McCormack Baron Ragan Management Services, was singled out for its creative and innovative approach to financing and other challenges, for its strong private-public partnerships, and for its unique design and financing mechanisms. Harmony Oaks is proof that the affordable housing industry can succeed in creating housing that is safe, attractive, modern, and well maintained – and that residents are able to find a supportive community that address their unique needs and abilities.
