McCormack Baron Salazar’s Alice Griffith Project Wins $30.5 million HUD Award

September 1, 2011 | McCormack Baron Salazar

McCormack Baron Salazar has been awarded $30.5 million from the federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to apply toward a community development and urban revitalization effort at San Francisco’s Alice Griffith Public Housing Development.

The HUD award, part of a series of $122 million in awards to urban revitalization projects across the country, will help McCormack Baron Salazar and its partners to develop a community of 1,126 homes in San Francisco’s Eastern Bayview neighborhood. The project calls for a mix of public housing, low income, market-rate homes to replace 256 townhouse-style homes built in 1962.

The San Francisco Chronicle calls the award a “jump start” for the revitalization effort that will transform the Alice Griffith development and create new opportunities for the community and its residents.
