December 11, 2013 | McCormack Baron Salazar

McCormack Baron Salazar and affiliate Sunwheel Energy + Sustainability received an Emeritus Award at the St. Louis Green Business Challenge Awards held on December 11, 2013. Claudia Brodie, Senior VP of McCormack Baron Salazar and William Carson, President of Sunwheel accepted the award.

The St. Louis Green Business Challenge is presented annually by the St. Louis Regional Chamber to assist member companies and organizations in adopting sustainable business practices that can help grow the region's green economy, reduce environmental impact and improve bottom lines.  Emeritus Awards were conferred in 2013 to recognize those companies whose ongoing sustainability efforts go beyond those of companies in their initial years of the Challenge:  2014 marks the third year of the McCormack Baron Salazar Companies' participation, having taken home Top-Honors in 2011 and 2012.

The St. Louis Green Business Challenge helps company sustainability teams work through a scorecard of strategies to reduce energy, waste and water consumption, engage employees, improve indoor environmental quality, and expand clean transportation options.  The Missouri Botanical Garden's EarthWays Center consults with the Challenge participants to help with implementation of sustainability strategies.
