Maricela Flores, Project Manager
Ms. Flores has urban redevelopment and community revitalization experience from both the private and nonprofit sectors. In her current position as Project Manager, Ms. Flores is responsible for the implementation of mixed-income and mixed-use projects, leveraging and securing project financing, and coordinating public and private partners. Ms. Flores’ current projects include the mixed-income, mixed-finance residential communities of Arlington Grove and North Sarah in St. Louis, MO, as well as a New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) turnkey project with a non-profit partner in St. Louis, MO.
With MBS, Ms. Flores has played a key project management role in the LEED-Platinum, mixed-finance Crossroads College Preparatory School project, the renovation and construction of an addition to a diverse, urban school, for which she secured State and Federal NMTC financing. She was also instrumental in securing a HOPE VI award for Krohn West (now, the Symphony) in Phoenix, AZ.
Prior to joining MBS, Mrs. Flores completed a University of Pennsylvania Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence (CUREx) fellowship. During her CUREx fellowship, Ms. Flores worked as a Project Manager at Telesis Corporation, a real estate development firm specializing in affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization.
Ms. Flores is a Master of Science degree in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American studies and art history from Southern Methodist University. In addition, she was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs.
