Mr. Acosta brings more than 17 years of experience in real estate finance, investment, and asset management to MBAM. As Director of Asset Management, Mr. Acosta oversees portfolio management of the MBS and substitute general partner properties and supervises an asset management team responsible for the restructuring, refinancing, and analysis of properties in the MBS portfolio and acquisition of new properties.

Prior to joining McCormack Baron, Mr. Acosta was Vice President of Asset Management for SunAmerica Affordable Housing Partners responsible for monitoring and improving operations of a 13,000 affordable housing unit apartment investment portfolio. Mr. Acosta has also held positions of Principal at The Rinehart Group, Senior Project Manager at WNC & Associates' Acquisition Department, Assistant Vice President/Director of Asset Management for AIMCO Capital / NAPICO, and Vice President of Structure Finance / Asset Management for Aon Capital Markets/SRS.

Mr. Acosta holds an MBA from UC–Irvine, BSBA degree from UOP, and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker. He is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter, is a member of the Colorado IREM chapter, and holds the CCIM, CPM, and HCCP professional designations. Mr. Acosta (through CCIM) is also a mentor to graduate students from University of Denver’s Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management.
