The Compliance Division manages reporting and review requirements of all low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) properties. Working with the Information Technology department and division Vice Presidents, Compliance trains site staff on the use of Yardi © software. Compliance staff maintains a high level of federal and state certifications and has developed its own set of best practices. Compliance staff provides individual training to site staff covering all MBR operating procedures.



 


Nathan Lyons
Compliance Manager
Mr. Lyons oversees the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance Department. The residential units managed by McCormack Baron Ragan are a combination of market-rate, tax-credit and deep subsidy programs including public housing and Section 8. Mr. Lyons supervises the monthly provision of LIHTC training to on-site staff and is responsible for the company’s LIHTC Compliance Manual. He also supervises the Compliance staff of eight people in fulfilling reporting requirements, providing income and rent limits, implementing utility allowances, completing internal audits and reviewing eligibility requirements.

 


Connie Raney
Training Coordinator

Ms. Raney provides Yardi software training to the on-site staff on a monthly basis. She is responsible for the MBR Yardi Training Manual and the development of on-line training. She is responsible for coordinating all policy and procedural changes within the software for the Compliance and Accounting departments and communicating these changes to the on-site staff. Ms. Raney is also responsible for the MBR Policy & Procedures manual and training on company operations. During her 21 years with the company, Ms. Raney has 7 years as a Staff Accountant and 5 years as the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. She is a Certified Assisted Housing Manager and NAHMA Certified in Fair Housing Compliance.
